Maureen Grant, CCE is an award-winning picture editor whose work has screened internationally to acclaim. She takes pride in being part of projects that are changing and challenging onscreen representation, and is a trusted collaborator to numerous directors.
She won the 2022 Directors Guild of Canada Award for Best Editing - Movies for Television and Mini-Series with STOLEN BY THEIR FATHER, and is a six-time nominee of the Canadian Cinema Editors Awards in three categories.
Feature work includes FITTING IN (Director Molly McGlynn) which stars Maddie Ziegler, Djouliet Amara, Emily Hampshire, and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, and premiered at SXSW 2023 (previously titled BLOODY HELL), and TIFF 2023. It won Best Canadian Feature at the Vancouver Film Festival 2023, and will have a theatrical release in the US and Canada in Febrary 2024. THIS PLACE (Director V.T. Nayani) starring Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs and Priya Guns, premiered to acclaim at TIFF 2022 and has screened internationally. PYEWACKET (Director Adam MacDonald) premiered at TIFF 2017 and was ranked amongst the year’s top horror films internationally.
Television credits includes the acclaimed series SORT OF (CBC | HBO MAX), family comedy RUN THE BURBS (CBC | CW), sketch comedy TALLBOYZ (CBC), TAKE NOTE (Peacock), drag queen whodunnit QUEENS, dark comedy I HATE PEOPLE, PEOPLE HATE ME (Tribeca | Newfest) and the award-winning series QUERENCIA (APTN).
Short films IT’S NOTHING, CONSTELLATIONS, and YOUR MOTHER AND I (Director Anna Maguire) were recently inducted into the British Film Institute’s archive.
Maureen is an alumnus of the Canadian Film Centre’s Editors Lab and the Berlinale Talents Lab. She served as the Events Chair of the Canadian Cinema Editors for three years, organizing EditCon. She serves on numerous juries, mentors emerging talent, is on the advisory committee for the Canadian Academy’s Women in Post program, and is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Representative for the Picture Editing Caucus of the Director’s Guild of Canada. She is also a co-founder of Queer in Post, a new industry networking initiative.
PYEWACKET premiered at TIFF 2017 and ranked amongst the year’s top horror films internationally.
The series I HATE PEOPLE, PEOPLE HATE ME, premiered at Tribeca 2023 and is now streaming on CBC GEM.
